Venom Snake is the codename for the player character in The Phantom Pain, a man who awakens from a nine-year coma after a devastating attack on his hospital, bearing shrapnel embedded in his skull and a bionic arm replacing his lost left limb. Set in 1984, the game follows his journey as he builds the private military company Diamond Dogs and pursues revenge against those who destroyed his former unit, Militaires Sans Frontières. The character's scarred appearance and battle-worn equipment reflect the harsh realities of his survival and the moral ambiguity that defines the game's narrative.
