Good Smile Company presents Katsuragi Misato with PenPen from the Rebuild of Evangelion film series as a Nendoroid, product number 2333. This chibi-style figure captures Nerv's tactical operations director alongside her pet penguin. Misato Katsuragi serves as caretaker and commanding officer for Shinji and Asuka, maintaining a professional demeanor at Nerv that contrasts dramatically with her carefree and irresponsible behavior at home. Character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto conceived her as an older girl next door and promiscuous loser who failed to take life seriously. Director Anno described both Shinji and Misato as afraid of being hurt and unsuitable for what people call heroes of an adventure. After Shinji's first battle, Misato takes him in and helps him settle into life in Tokyo-3, confronting him when he runs away and convincing him to remain a pilot.
