Kanzashi Sarashiki is a first-year student at the IS Academy in Class Four and the younger sister of Student Council President Tatenashi Sarashiki. Unlike her cheerful and talkative older sister, Kanzashi is serious, reserved, and somewhat shy, spending much of her free time as a hikikomori watching anime and idolizing anime heroes. Her withdrawn nature stems from an inferiority complex toward Tatenashi, who excels at nearly everything. Kanzashi's character arc sees her gradually open up, particularly after teaming up with Ichika and learning that nobody is perfect. She eventually reconciles with her sister and begins spending more time with the other personal IS pilots.
