Altria Pendragon, known as Saber, is the Servant accidentally summoned by Shirou Emiya in the Fifth Holy Grail War. A mighty warrior who conceals her identity, she was the victor of the Fourth Holy Grail War and claims to be the strongest Saber Class Servant. Throughout the Fate route, she and Shirou develop a profound bond. After learning that the Holy Grail is cursed and that Kiritsugu once used Saber to destroy it—causing the fire that orphaned Shirou—both characters reject the Grail. Saber accepts that she should not change Britain's history and returns to her last moments, finally accepting her life.
