Bandai Spirits brings Evangelion Unit-01 from the Rebuild of Evangelion film series into the Metal Build line, a premium action figure series featuring die-cast metal components and high-end detailing. Standing approximately 220mm tall, this figure was sculpted with involvement from Hirose Hiroyuki, Sakanoryo, and Yamashita Ikuto — the mechanical designer of Evangelion himself. The Rebuild of Evangelion films re-imagine the original series with updated animation and an altered storyline, centering on teenager Shinji Ikari as he pilots Unit-01 against monstrous beings known as Angels under the organization NERV. Unit-01 is the most iconic Evangelion unit, known for its distinctive purple and green coloration and its terrifying tendency to go berserk when Shinji is pushed beyond his limits.
