Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line brings the Shinigami Ryuuk to collectible form from the psychological thriller Death Note. This figure captures the apple-loving death god in an adorable yet faithful chibi rendition. In Death Note, Ryuuk is a Shinigami—a god of death—who drops his Death Note into the human world out of boredom, where it is found by prodigy student Light Yagami. Rather than stopping Light from using the notebook to kill criminals, Ryuuk becomes an amused spectator, following Light as he adopts the persona of "Kira" and attempts to create a new world order. Ryuuk is neither ally nor enemy; he is a neutral observer who finds human behavior endlessly entertaining. His distinctive grotesque appearance and love of apples are iconic elements of the series. The Nendoroid stands approximately 100mm tall and is made from ABS and PVC. It was released in April 2008 with product code 011, making it one of the earlier entries in the long-running Nendoroid line.
