Plex releases the Great Mazinger as a Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure from the film Mazinger Z / INFINITY, standing at an impressive approximately 650mm tall. This massive collectible captures the iconic super robot in its updated cinematic design. Mazinger Z / INFINITY is a commemorative work celebrating Go Nagai's 50th anniversary in the industry. Designed by Takayuki Yanase, the film features completely new mechanical designs with numerous armor panel lines that give Mazinger Z and its allies a fresh look. The story is set ten years after the TV anime series, where protagonist Koji and others have begun new lives under new identities. They encounter the mysterious demon called INFINITY and face the return of familiar villains including Baron Ashura, Count Brocken, and Dr. Hell. Great Mazinger, piloted by Tetsuya Tsurugi, appears alongside Aphrodite A and Boss Borot in the film. The Ver.2 figure features a more vibrant color scheme with metallic textures on the limbs and a clear V-shaped heat plate on the chest. It includes simple articulated joints and was released in January 2024.
