Bandai's DX Chogokin VF-19EF/A Isamu Special is a 1/60 scale die-cast transformable figure from Macross Frontier The Movie: Sayonara no Tsubasa (The Wings of Goodbye). Standing approximately 250mm tall, this figure depicts the custom variable fighter piloted by Isamu Alva Dyson and is part of Bandai's premium DX Chogokin line, which features high-quality die-cast construction and full transformation mechanics. The VF-19EF/A Isamu Special was developed under the VF-19ADVANCE project, proposed by Shinsei Industries VF Development Advisor Yang Neumann. After Isamu left the New United Nations Spacy due to excessive desk work, he joined Strategic Military Services (SMS) and sought to pilot a VF-19A Excalibur. Unable to obtain one due to export restrictions, Yang proposed remodeling a VF-19EF Caliburn into a high-performance unit resembling the original YF-19. Isamu personally funded the remaining development costs, and the completed unit was painted in the New Edwards base livery. It features a custom-tuned FF-2500E engine, ARIEL combat software from YF-19 Unit 3, and an Advance pack combining modified VF-25 Super Pack boosters with YF-19 FAST Pack components. Made from ABS, die-cast metal, and PVC, the figure was priced at 23,000 JPY. The DX Chogokin line is known for its robust engineering, allowing the figure to transform between fighter, gerwalk, and battroid modes.
