Max Factory's figma EX-005 is a special dual-figure set featuring Hirasawa Yui and Manabe Nodoka from K-ON! in their school uniforms. Standing approximately 135mm tall, these figures are made from ABS and PVC and were sculpted by Asai (APSY) Masaki. K-ON! follows the members of the Light Music Club at Sakuragaoka High School, with Hirasawa Yui as the energetic and somewhat airheaded lead guitarist who joins the club without prior musical experience. Manabe Nodoka is Yui's childhood friend and class representative, serving as a supportive figure who occasionally assists the club despite not being a member herself. Their friendship represents one of the quieter but enduring relationships in the series, grounded in years of shared history rather than club activities. This figma EX release was a Wonder Festival 2010 Summer exclusive, available at the 'WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU!! 12' booth with a limit of two per person. Online sales followed through the Good Smile Online Shop from July 26 to July 31, limited to three per person, with figures made on demand and shipped around late November. The set retailed at 2,500 JPY.
