Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line features Asahina Mikuru from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu as figure #016, making it one of the earliest entries in the now-iconic Nendoroid series. Asahina Mikuru is a key character in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, a series that follows the eccentric Haruhi Suzumiya and the members of her SOS Brigade. Mikuru is a shy, timid girl who is forcibly recruited into the brigade by Haruhi, who often dresses her in various costumes. Beneath her innocent exterior, Mikuru holds a significant secret — she is actually a time traveler from the future, investigating the temporal anomalies surrounding Haruhi. The series blends slice-of-life comedy with science fiction elements, as the brigade members — each with their own hidden identities — attempt to keep Haruhi's reality-altering powers in check. This Nendoroid stands approximately 100mm tall and is made from ABS and PVC. Sculpted by Nendoron and Ageta Yukiwo, it was released on June 30, 2008, with a retail price of ¥3,829. As one of the earliest Nendoroids produced, it represents the beginnings of what would become one of the most successful figure lines in collectible history.
