Ryosuke Takahashi originally raced as a solo driver, earning his legendary nickname through his exceptional skill on the mountain passes. He later formed the Akagi RedSuns, recruiting racers based on talent with the goal of setting records across every course in the Kanto Plain. After his brother Keisuke is defeated by Takumi Fujiwara's mysterious Eight-Six, Ryosuke formally challenges Takumi, even lowering his horsepower for the battle. Though he ultimately loses, Ryosuke retires from active racing to lead Project D, mentoring other racers from the sidelines.
