Alter's renewed 1/8 scale figure of Natsume Takashi from Natsume Yujin-cho is a complete redesign of the company's original 2010 release, featuring an entirely new sculpt and updated paintwork. The figure also includes Nyanko-sensei, making it a dual-character piece. Natsume Yujin-cho follows Takashi Natsume, a boy who inherited the ability to see spirits from his grandmother Reiko. Upon her death, Reiko left him the Book of Friends, a ledger containing the names of spirits she had bullied into servitude. While Reiko formed these contracts, Takashi dedicates himself to dissolving them, freeing the spirits that constantly seek him out. The series is often compared to Mushi-shi for its contemplative tone, though it carries a warmer, more heartfelt atmosphere. Standing approximately 180mm tall, this PVC figure was sculpted by Watanabe Takamasa, Moriwaki Naoto, and Mirano. The renewal version was priced at 7,800 JPY and has been widely regarded as a beautifully crafted piece that stands on its own as a work of art, even for those unfamiliar with the source material.
