Kudryavka, whose full name is Kudryavka Anatolyevna Strugatskaya, is a quarter Japanese and three-quarters Russian girl who spent most of her childhood traveling the world. Her home country is the fictional southern island republic of Tebwa, which explains her habit of wearing a hat and cloak—she finds Japan's climate cold compared to her equatorial homeland. She is Riki's classmate and the sole active member of the home economics club. She has two dogs, a Siberian Husky named Strelka and a Schipperke named Belka, and her handmade hat and cloak are signature elements of her design. Her mother is a key figure in Tebwa's space program, representing an ideal of perfection that Kud strives toward.
