Nintendo presents Takumi as an Amiibo figure from the Doubutsu no Mori series, also known internationally as Animal Crossing. This Amiibo is part of the Amiibo Doubutsu no Mori Series product line. Doubutsu no Mori e+ was an expanded version of Animal Crossing released exclusively in Japan on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. The game added new villagers, items, and gameplay elements beyond what was found in the original release, along with enhanced e-Reader functionality that allowed players to scan cards to invite villagers into their town. Several elements that debuted in Doubutsu no Mori e+ went on to become series regulars in subsequent Animal Crossing titles. As an Amiibo figure, Takumi can be used with compatible Nintendo games to unlock content, invite the character to visit in-game, or access special features depending on the title being played.
