Bandai's Super Robot Chogokin line brings GaoGaiGar from Yuusha Ou GaoGaiGar to collectors with a die-cast-rich construction. Yuusha Ou GaoGaiGar is a 49-episode mecha anime set in 2005, two years after an extraterrestrial intelligence called EI-01 crash-landed on Earth. In response, the Japanese government formed the Gutsy Geoid Guard (GGG) to combat alien threats. The story centers on Guy Shishiô, a human cyborg whose life was saved by Galeon, a sentient mechanical lion. Guy can fuse with Galeon to form GaiGar, which then combines with GGG's GaoMachines to become the Super Mechanoid GaoGaiGar. Together with the alien child Mamoru Amami, who can purify Zonder cores, they battle Zonderians—parasitic aliens that assimilate matter and possess human hosts. The Super Robot Chogokin GaoGaiGar captures the heroic presence of the titular mecha with its combination of die-cast heft and posable articulation.
