Loot Crate produced this unique light-up figure of Atom from Tetsuwan Atom, known globally as Astro Boy. Standing approximately 90mm tall, this figure was developed as an exclusive collectible through a collaboration with Tezuka Productions. Tetsuwan Atom, created by Osamu Tezuka — revered as the "God of Manga" — first appeared in 1952 and became the first animated TV series in Japan in 1963. Atom is a robot boy created by the grieving Dr. Tenma, who lost his son and attempted to replace him with a robot. The character became a symbol of hope and renewal in post-war Japan, reflecting the nation's complex relationship with technological progress. Tezuka, originally trained as a medical doctor, was deeply influenced by the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and Atom's stories explored profound questions about technology's place in the world. This figure was specially designed to showcase Atom's internal robotic skeleton through its light-up feature. The packaging was designed to look as though Astro Boy was on a table being worked on, and the figure was displayed at Licensing Show in May 2018 by Tezuka Productions.
