This collection showcases artwork directly supervised by the series creator, Takehiko Inoue. Slam Dunk is a landmark basketball manga and anime by Takehiko Inoue that follows the Shohoku High School basketball team. Mitsui Hisashi is a former MVP-level player who left basketball after a knee injury and fell into delinquency. After a fateful confrontation with the team, he returns to the court, bringing his deadly three-point shooting and veteran experience to Shohoku. Interestingly, Inoue has shared that Mitsui was not originally planned to be part of the story, making his eventual role and popularity all the more remarkable.
