Tsukuda Hobby presents a unique 1/1 scale figure of PenPen from Neon Genesis Evangelion, crafted from papier-mâché. Standing approximately 600mm tall, this life-size figure offers an unconventional take on the beloved character. PenPen is the pet warm-water penguin who resides in a specially modified refrigerator in the apartment of Misato Katsuragi, the operations director at NERV. As one of the few sources of comic relief in the psychologically intense series, PenPen is a genetically engineered hot springs penguin who behaves with surprising domesticity, drinking beer and watching television alongside Misato. Neon Genesis Evangelion, created by Hideaki Anno, follows teenager Shinji Ikari as he is recruited to pilot the bio-mechanical Evangelion Unit-01 against mysterious beings known as Angels, with PenPen providing moments of levity amid the series' heavy themes. The use of papier-mâché as a material makes this figure an unusual collectible, differing significantly from standard PVC or resin figures. At 1/1 scale and 600mm tall, it represents PenPen at approximately life size.
