This prize figure reimagines the iconic character in a racing-themed outfit tied to the Evangelion Racing promotional project. Neon Genesis Evangelion follows the story of teenagers piloting giant biomechanical mechs called Evangelions to defend humanity from mysterious beings known as Angels. Ayanami Rei is the First Children, the pilot of Evangelion Unit-00, and is known for her quiet, emotionally reserved demeanor and mysterious origins. The Evangelion Racing project reimagines characters from the Rebuild of Evangelion film series in motorsport-themed attire, with Rei, Asuka, and Mari all receiving race queen and pit walk style figures. This SEGA prize figure was released on March 26, 2015, and features Rei in a racing outfit with classic Evangelion design elements. As a prize figure, it was originally obtainable through crane game machines in Japanese arcades.
