XM Studios delivers a commanding bust of Godzilla as depicted in the 2016 film Shin Godzilla, conceptualized and interpreted in collaboration with acclaimed illustrator and sculptor Tanaka Kenichi. This piece represents XM Studios' first release from the Shin Godzilla license, with worldwide availability excluding Japan. Shin Godzilla portrays the creature as a mutated ancient sea organism that absorbed radioactive waste abandoned decades earlier, gaining the ability to rapidly mutate its own DNA. It developed limbs, retracted its gills, and grew massive dorsal spines before unleashing a devastating Heat Ray across Tokyo. XM's interpretation faithfully follows the film's grotesque aesthetic, with each scale, crease, and fold individually sculpted and hand-painted. The jagged dorsal plates feature porous bony structures, uneven rows of teeth protrude from the skin, and red scar-like scales enhance the creature's ominous presence. Crafted in polystone and individually hand-painted, the bust measures approximately 31 by 43 by 60 centimeters and weighs an estimated 8 kilograms. A plaque bearing the film's name is embossed on the back. Pre-orders opened on November 25, 2021.
