KOTODAMA is an original 1/6 scale resin bust produced by Sum-Art (S+U+M), created in collaboration between sculptor Masato Ohata and Manas. This S+U+M Edition is a limited release with an edition size of 88 pieces, standing approximately 91mm tall. The piece is part of a limited edition resin art collectible line drawing from Japanese mythology. The concept behind KOTODAMA is rooted in the Japanese belief that mystical powers dwell within words and names — the soul or power of language itself. Masato Ohata expresses the idea that words have a life of their own, capable of flying outward to spread either redemption or deadly harm depending on the recipient. The artwork reflects a personal wish for fewer hurtful words in the world and more warm, healing ones. Ohata has described the creation process as flowing almost seamlessly from conception to completion, making it one of his favorite works. The figure measures approximately 4.3 x 3.6 x 6.7 inches and is crafted from resin. The S+U+M Edition is limited to 88 units worldwide.
