Hobonichi's MOTHER Project presents Dosei-san—known to Western fans as Mr. Saturn—from the beloved Super Nintendo RPG Mother 2: Gyiyg no Gyakushuu (released internationally as EarthBound). This figure stands approximately 55mm tall and is part of Hobonichi's ongoing merchandise initiative celebrating the works of game designer Shigesato Itoi. Mother 2 follows the journey of young boy Ness and his friends as they travel across a quirky, modern-day world to stop the cosmic threat of Gyiyg. Dosei-san, or Mr. Saturn, is a peculiar species of small, bow-tie-wearing creatures with distinctive oversized noses and whiskers. They reside in the village of Saturn Valley and communicate in a unique speech pattern characterized by odd verbal tics. Despite their odd appearance, the Mr. Saturns play a crucial role in the game's story, assisting Ness and his companions on their quest. Hobonichi has maintained a close relationship with the MOTHER franchise, hosting events such as The Secret of MOTHER 2 exhibition in summer 2024.
