About this figure
This doujin figure by Denboku depicts Ambassador Magma from Magma Taishi, a pioneering sci-fi manga by Osamu Tezuka. Standing approximately 430mm tall, the figure represents the Golden Giant God—a transformable rocket robot created by As, the creator of Earth, to defend against extraterrestrial threats. In Magma Taishi, the evil being Gol proclaims himself the Cosmic Emperor and attempts to conquer Earth. Ambassador Magma joins forces with the Murakami family—reporters accidentally caught up in the conflict—to confront Gol's invasion. Magma is accompanied by his wife Mol and their son Kemu, a robot modeled after the human boy Mamoru. Mamoru carries a summoning flute: one blow summons Kemu, two blows summon Mol, and three blows summon Ambassador Magma himself. The series was notably adapted in 1966 as Japan's first color tokusatsu television series, with an OVA adaptation following in 1993. This figure stands approximately 430mm tall and is credited to Tezuka Osamu as the original creator. As a doujin release, it represents an independent tribute to one of Tezuka's lesser-known but historically significant works in the history of Japanese science fiction.
