Despite her cheerful and gentle demeanor, Shinobu harbors deep anger toward demons following the death of her sister Kanae at the hands of the demon Doma. Unlike most Hashira, Shinobu lacks the physical strength to decapitate demons, instead using her expertise in medicine to develop a wisteria-based poison applied to her blade. Her butterfly-themed aesthetic, including her distinctive haori and purple-tinted hair, makes her one of the most visually distinctive characters in the series.
