Kaijuu-tou no Kessen Gojira no Musuko - Gojira - Minilla - Sofubi Figure - Rockin' Maria Gojira (Characters)

This sofubi figure features Minilla from the 1967 Toho film Kaijuu-tou no Kessen Gojira no Musuko, also known as Son of Godzilla. Produced under the Rockin' Maria Gojira label by Characters, the figure stands approximately 10.5 centimeters tall and is rendered in soft vinyl. Son of Godzilla is the eighth installment in the Godzilla film series and part of the Showa era. The film follows scientists on a tropical island attempting to perfect a weather control system, whose experiments go awry when a radioactive storm causes giant praying mantises called Kamacuras to grow enormous. The mantises dig up an egg that hatches a baby Godzilla, whose cries inadvertently caused the interference that ruined the scientists' experiment. Godzilla arrives on the island to defend the infant, killing two of the Kamacuras. The baby, dubbed Minilla, grows to about half the size of his father and is taught by Godzilla how to roar and use his radioactive breath, initially struggling to produce more than smoke rings. Minilla has since become one of the more endearing kaiju in the Godzilla franchise, and this sofubi figure captures the character in classic soft vinyl format.
