In the series, Yurine Hanazono is the human who summoned the serpent devil Jashin-chan from Hell on a whim, using a grimoire that lacked a return spell. This act binds the two together, as the only way for Jashin-chan to return home is to kill her summoner. Yurine is known for her relentlessly sadistic punishments of Jashin-chan's misdeeds, often delivered in bloody fashion. Despite their violent dynamic, the two share an unlikely friendship, with Jashin-chan secretly growing fond of Yurine despite refusing to admit it. Yurine also interacts with a cast of characters from both Heaven and Hell, including the angel Pekora and Jashin-chan's childhood friend Medusa.
