Standing approximately 400mm tall, this statue is crafted from polyurethane and resin materials. Date Eiji is the former JBC and OPBF featherweight champion and a retired professional boxer who was regarded as the second best featherweight in the world by Ricardo Martinez. His career was marked by a devastating loss to Martinez and personal tragedy when his wife Aiko suffered a miscarriage while he was pursuing the world championship in Mexico. After retiring and working in business, Date returned to boxing at Aiko's encouragement, wanting their son to have a figure he could look up to. He served as an early antagonist on Ippo's national championship road, sparring with the young boxer to test his abilities. The figure's sculpting was handled by Édouard Velay, Thiago Lima, Kampee Tupnoi, and Kryss Drawing, capturing the intensity of this pivotal boxing rivalry.
