Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood follows the story of Edward and Alphonse Elric, two brothers who attempted the forbidden practice of human transmutation to bring back their deceased mother. The ritual went terribly wrong, costing Edward his arm and leg and stripping Alphonse of his entire physical body, which was bound to a suit of armor. Edward becomes a State Alchemist at a young age, and together the brothers journey across the nation of Amestris seeking the Philosopher's Stone to restore their bodies.
