PLEX Corporation and X-Plus present King Caesar from the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla as part of their DefoReal Series in a Limited Edition release. This figure combines the cute super-deformed aesthetic with realistic detailing to create a distinctive interpretation of the legendary guardian kaiju. King Caesar is the guardian deity of the Azumi royal family in ancient Ryukyu, awakened through a traditional song to defend Okinawa against the threat of Mechagodzilla. In the 1974 film, the Simians deploy Mechagodzilla disguised as Godzilla to wreak havoc, and King Caesar answers the call to battle alongside the real Godzilla. The monster's design draws from Okinawan shisa lion dog statues, giving him a unique appearance among Toho's kaiju roster with his distinctive fur, red eyes, and canine features. The figure stands approximately 160mm (about 13cm) tall and is made of PVC. The DefoReal Series blends super-deformed proportions with realistic sculpted details, and this Limited Edition version includes interchangeable raised ears and a bonus King Caesar statue. The figure was shipped in August 2020 and was available through X-Plus's Shonen-RIC online shop.
