It is the third entry in the collection series. Marvelous Melmo is a pioneering magical girl manga and anime by Osamu Tezuka that aired from October 1971 to March 1972 across 26 episodes. The story follows nine-year-old Melmo, whose mother dies in a car accident, leaving her to care for her two younger brothers, Totoo and Touch. In Heaven, her mother is granted one wish and asks God to let Melmo grow up faster than normal. Melmo receives a bottle of candy — blue candy transforms her into a beautiful 19-year-old, while red candy reverts her to a child. Tezuka intended the series to double as introductory sex education and a lesson on evolution, which made it controversial among Japanese parents at the time. As a mini figure from Benelic's collection, this piece celebrates one of Tezuka's lesser-known but historically significant creations, marking an early milestone in the magical girl genre.
