Fate/Apocrypha is a Japanese light novel series in Type-Moon's Fate franchise, written by Yūichirō Higashide and illustrated by Ototsugu Konoe. The story focuses on a large-scale Holy Grail War between two factions—Red and Black—each with seven Masters and Servants battling over the Greater Grail. The narrative centers on Kairi Shishigou, a necromancer who summons Saber-class Mordred, and later shifts to Sieg, a malfunctioning homunculus, and Ruler Jeanne d'Arc, the mediator of the war. The Red faction is led by Shirou Kotomine, secretly the incarnated Heroic Spirit Amakusa Shirou Tokisada, who manipulates the war to grant his wish of making all humanity immortal beings free of sin.
