Densetsu Kyojin Ideon (Legendary Giant Ideon) is a 1980 anime television series produced by Sunrise, created and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino immediately following his most famous work, Mobile Suit Gundam. The series premiered on TV Tokyo from 1980 to 1981 and was followed by two feature films in 1982. It tells the story of the crew of the Solo Ship and their encounters with the massive alien mecha Ideon, a robot of immense and terrifying power. The series won the Animage Anime Grand Prix for the second half of 1980 and is remembered for its ambitious storytelling and the cosmic scale of its narrative. Mechanical designs were created by Yuichi Higuchi at Studio Submarine, with character designs by Tomonori Kogawa. Standing an impressive 730mm tall at 1/144 scale, this jumbo soft vinyl figure is constructed from acrylic, PP, and PVC materials, with a special metallic finish honoring the series' 40th anniversary.
