Tohka is the first Spirit saved by protagonist Shido Itsuka, and her arrival on Earth marked a turning point in the series. When she first appeared on April 10th, she came under attack by the AST, an anti-Spirit military unit. It was during these encounters that Shido gave her the name "Tohka" and showed her that not all humans wished her harm. After her Spirit powers were sealed through a kiss with Shido, she began attending school alongside him, gradually learning to navigate human emotions she had never experienced before. She also harbors an alternate personality named Tenka, which emerges only when she assumes her Inverse Form. As an AAA-Class Spirit with dark plum hair and indigo eyes, Tohka's design translates well to figure form.
