About this figure
Honda Koji Shokai presents the Boshi Jizo, a prepainted figure standing approximately 110mm tall. This figure depicts the Boshi Jizo, or Mother and Child Jizo, a statue with deep historical and cultural significance. The Boshi Jizo was originally created after World War II as a memorial for Japanese mothers and children who were trapped in Manchuria and unable to return to Japan amid the chaos at the end of the war. Many died in exile or were separated from their families permanently. The statue was built to comfort their spirits and to express a collective prayer of never repeating the mistake of war. It stands as a poignant reminder of the human cost of conflict and the enduring hope for peace. The figure is a prepainted release that measures 110mm in height. It was released in January 2017 as a standard edition through limited channels in Japan. A smaller 70mm mini version was also released separately in January 2023.
