Chara'ft, in collaboration with Shirakawa Daruma Shouhonpo, presents a unique Daruma figure themed around Black Jack, the legendary manga character created by Osamu Tezuka. This distinctive item stands approximately 40mm tall and is crafted from clay and paper materials. Black Jack is a manga series following an unlicensed but extraordinarily skilled surgeon who operates outside the medical establishment, taking on impossible cases and charging exorbitant fees. The character is one of Tezuka's most iconic creations. Daruma dolls, by contrast, are traditional Japanese talisman dolls modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. They serve as symbols of perseverance and good luck, with a unique tradition: both eyes start blank, and the owner paints in the left eye when setting a goal, then the right eye upon achieving it. This figure merges these two concepts, reimagining the Daruma form with Black Jack's distinctive design.
