The game is set in a dystopian world where a mysterious substance called Originium has catalyzed both technological advancement and a devastating disease known as Oripathy. Players take on the role of the Doctor, leading a pharmaceutical organization called Rhodes Island that combats both the infection and the political conflicts surrounding it. Eyjafjalla is a Caster-class Operator whose design and abilities draw inspiration from volcanic imagery, reflecting her name's connection to the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull.
